South Central Community Based Initiative (SCCBI) is hosting its 7th annual mental health conference on Tuesday, October 2, at Minnesota State University, Mankato. This year’s theme is “See the Forest for the Trees: Theoretical Framework and Practical Approaches for Suicide, Anxiety, and Character Pathology.” Dr. Michael Farnsworth will be the keynote speaker. The Minnesota chapter of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association is hosting a Competency-Based Suicide Prevention Training on Friday, April 13, at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota, from 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
The training is $60 for members and $75 for non-members. The cost covers the 6.5 continuing education CEs, training materials, provider registration card and lunch.

The Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention Program of Minnesota will be hosting a breakfast buffet on Sunday, September 13, 2015, from 9:00 AM to noon at the WOW! Zone Family Entertainment Center, located at 2030 Adams Street in Mankato. Cost for the buffet is $12.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 5. Proceeds go to support Yellow Ribbon’s suicide prevention programs.
Yellow Ribbon is a grassroots, community-based volunteer organization developed to serve youth and the communities that surround them, and to address youth/teen suicide through public awareness, education and training to help communities build new and/or strengthen existing programs.
