Speaker: Karissa Borchert, MSW, LGSW, Community Liaison, Home Health Care, Inc.
Karissa graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and completed her Masters of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Minnesota. She has worked in a variety of social service and medical settings, most frequently with adults and elders. She also has extensive experience working with seniors facing the challenges of substance abuse and their families.
Sunflower Communities is hosting a presentation about identifying and preventing substance abuse in seniors. There is no charge and lunch is provided. On Friday, May 20, the Social Services Department at Mayo Clinic Health System is hosting an all-day conference to learn about the assessment and treatment of dual diagnosis, discover local resources at the community resource fair, and network with colleagues.
Conference topics will include:

The continuum of care for the dual diagnosis population
Identify the basic clinical needs of the patient with dual diagnosis
