These presentations are a repeat of those at the Southern Minnesota Nurses Expo on Chronic Pain Management in April 2013. The presentations focus on what pain is, the types of pain, common medications to treat chronic pain and how to assess for pain in a variety of settings. It will also examine the effects of the providers’ attitudes on the management of chronic pain and the patient’s/client’s experience.

There will be an opportunity for questions and answers. The presentation will be appropriate for a variety of disciplines who work with individuals experiencing chronic pain – social workers, psychologists, assisted living/NH staff (licensed/unlicensed), clinics, home care, etc.

3.0 Contact Hours provided for nursing in accordance with the Minnesota Board of Nursing requirements. Other disciplines can apply to their boards for approval.
